  • Part One: Basic Instructor Training (BIT), 6 hours (Must be within two years on Instructor Completion Training Card)
  • Part two: NRA PPITH Instructor Training, 9 hours

    • Teach Fire Arms and Law: Possession, Ownership, and the Use of Deadly Force

    • Teach Sport Shooting Activities and Training Opportunities
    • Teach Course Review and Examination (25 Question)
    • Course Completion and certification


A Personal Protection Inside The Home Instructor (PPITH) candidate must be an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor prior to attending Personal Protection In The Home Instructor training. Basics Pistol (ILT) is a prerequisite for the basic PPITH course, therefore shooting fundamentals are only reviewed in the PPITH course.
